Modern Edge Boutique has found a new home in California.

The store opened Oct. 31 at its new location at 207 W Buchanan Street Suite C. Store hours will be noon-7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m Saturdays.

'The other location was a good place to start off, but we were ready to expand, and I wanted to move before the holidays and the bad weather started so we did that as quickly as possible, and we just got our new sign out on Saturday," owner Katie Minard said.

Minard said she decided to move her boutique to the new building because it's twice the size of the old one and gives her the ability to expand in the future. As of right now, Minard offers women's and children's clothing for purchase, but she hopes to eventually bring in some men's clothing as well as handbags and more shoes down the road. With this new building, Minard said she is going to be able to serve more customers, hire more employees and reach her business goals.

The store is up and ready at its new location, but Minard said she's still in the process of making the boutique what she wants it to be. She has painted the counters pink and given them a marble flair to fit the style of her boutique, and she's added a marble backdrop for her Facebook lives. Minard said she is also hoping to eventually get a Snapchat geo-filter created so customers can use it in the store with the marble backdrop to show off their outfits. Another touch are Minard's fitting rooms, made out of old doors that she painted giving the store the vintage yet modern edge represented in the store's name.

The boutique will be hosting holiday events every Saturday up until Christmas. For updates, check out Modern Edge Boutique's Facebook page.
