After a week of deliberation, the California Area Chamber of Commerce has selected winners in its annual holiday lighting contest.
The judges spent several hours during the past week viewing festively-decorated homes and businesses, ultimately selecting a number of winners.
In the city residential category, the winners were as follows: first place - Jerry and Bev Greever, of 1205 Quail Ct.; second place - Bo and Tammy Bowers, of 1151 Henley Blvd.; and third place - Norris and Lesley Gerhart, of 1192 Church Hill.
In the rural residential category, the winners were as follows: first place - Derek and Dena VanLoo, of Hwy K; second place - Joe and Dena Blakely, of Hwy 87 North; and third place - Giggles & Grins Daycare and Christine Graham, of Vaughan Dr.
The traveling Santa trophy awarded to the winner of the best business store front goes to Something Sassy this year. Another California business, Clenin Farm Supply, was selected as Best of Show among the displays at Christmas in Proctor Park, which remain available for viewing through the end of the month.
