UPDATE: All lanes of Interstate 70 at the Missouri River bridge near Rocheport reopened during the 5 p.m. hour today following earlier closure due to accidents involving multiple vehicles.

Westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the Missouri River bridge near Rocheport closed during the noon hour today due to multiple crashes, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. 

MoDOT estimated the closure will last "several hours." Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.

"There are several vehicles, including multiple semis, involved in crash on the I-70 Rocheport Bridge," reported Adam Pulley, communications manager for the MoDOT Central District. "Both westbound lanes are currently closed and traffic is being diverted around the bridge. This is likely a long-duration closure. We will provide more information as it becomes available and will keep you updated on any lane openings."

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tweeted the wreck resulted in at least one injury.
