California's Jefferson City Medical Group Family Health Clinic is set to move locations later this year.

The entirely new space is being built next to McDonald's, just down Buchanan from its current location, and construction is set to be complete in June. PEAK Sport & Spine, which shares the current building with JCMG, will also make the move and will lease half of the new space. Stark Construction Services of Jefferson City is the contractor for the building.

"We see a need in the community for an improved clinic and care space, and the opportunity worked out that we could build this and the property was available, so we made the decision to do it," Jamie Patterson, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for JCMG, said. "We're really excited to offer improved, state-of-the-art care in California."

The current JCMG clinic space is currently leased, Patterson said, so the timing for the move works out with the group's lease being up.

And the new location will be advantageous in and of itself, Patterson said.

"It's definitely going to be front and center in the town," Patterson said.

Nathan Granneman, who practices at the California clinic, said what the clinic offers will largely remain the same - rather than increasing the scope of service, the space it'll be in will simply be better laid out and more economic.

Along with being a full service primary care practice, the clinic also accepts walk-in visits during business hours and will continue to do so after the move.
