Hollon Family Chiropractic donated $1,320 to the Food Bank on Dec. 30 at their newly opened California location.

Just three months after purchasing the 601 E. Smith Street business and renovating the interior, a hearty number of patients have met their chiropractic needs there. For each new patient, the total for the first visit with Dr. Hilary Hollon is $20. Every penny of that donation goes toward the Food Bank, Cargill Cares Food Pantry in California. Since the office opened Nov. 13, it has already collected $1,320 for those in need in California.

As there are still renovations and construction to be completed, the grand opening will not be until perhaps March. Dr. Hollon plans to allow the public to take walking tours of the new premises and learn more about what is offered at the chiropractic office.

There to accept the check was Darren White, the regional coordinator manager of the Food Bank. He said if Moniteau County residents wish to give to the Food Bank, one of their best ways to donate funds is through the Tipton/Latham Bank. There is not yet a firm location for monetary donations in California just yet.

Hollon Family Chiropractic is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon and 2-6 p.m. Because of their influx of new and returning patients, they are also open two Saturdays each month from 9 a.m. to noon.
