E.M. Burger Foundation donates essential law-enforcement equipment

A generous donation from the E.M. Burger Foundation to the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office made it possible for the office to purchase a few pieces of much-needed equipment.

Members of the foundation got in contact with the office asking if there were any items that were needed that could assist deputies in performing their day-to-day duties. The office decided there was a dire need of spike strips to help deputies in stopping vehicle pursuits in a much safer manner.

The foundation then purchased eight sets of Phantom Spike Strip Sets to the tune of $3,120, equipping all road deputy vehicles with the necessary equipment that could not have been afforded to date.

"I would like to thank the E.M. Burger Foundation for their generous donation to the sheriff's office, as this much-needed tool could possibly save lives," Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley said.
