University of Missouri Extension Council election running this week

The 2020 University of Missouri Moniteau County Extension Council election began on Monday, Jan. 13 and will end on Friday, Jan. 17. Ballots were not be mailed out. Instead, you can vote online at extension2.missouri.edu/counties/moniteau.

Any Moniteau County resident of legal voting age is eligible to vote in this election. However, you may only vote for candidates in the district in which you reside.

There are five county residents running for the Extension Council. This election fills five open positions on the council. The nominees are as follows:

District 1, Northern District (Elect two) - Jeanne Heuser, Devora Longan, Norman Rohrbach

District 2, South-Western District (Elect three) - Sheila Moon, Carlene Petree

The university offers educational programs in such categories as agriculture, food and nutrition, human development, youth development, community and business development, along with various continuing education courses, workshops and printed materials.

Paper ballots will be available in the County Clerk's office at the Moniteau County Courthouse, Tipton City Hall, Jamestown Agribusiness Services or by calling the Extension Center at 573-378-5358. All ballots should be mailed or dropped off in the ballot boxes anytime during the election dates. If you choose to mail the ballot, it must be postmarked by Jan. 17, 2020.
