Another weekend, and another winter storm is expected to hit Mid-Missouri.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch Thursday afternoon, effective at 3 a.m. Friday and lasting until midnight Saturday morning.

A mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected, and the precipitation likely will affect the Friday morning commute as snow transitions to sleet, freezing rain and then to rain. The Friday evening commute also could be affected by wintry weather.

The NWS forecasts snow accumulations between 1-3 inches and ice accumulations of two-tenths of an inch. Winds could gust as fast as 30 mph.

Last weekend, Central Missouri was hit with flooding rains followed by 1-2 inches of snow.

As of Thursday afternoon, the NWS had not issued any flood advisory in association with Friday's expected storm.
