The Moniteau County Health Center has notified citizens of a potential coronavirus community exposure.
Anyone who visited Downtown Cafe in Tipton between 8-10 a.m. July 22 or July 24 should monitor themselves for 14 days from the date they visited, the Health Center advised in a Thursday news release. If COVID-19 symptoms develop, they should notify their health care providers for further evaluation.
Symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, chills, shortness of breath, cough, muscle aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and loss of taste and smell.
The Health Center also urged community members to wear a face covering or mask when in public, follow social-distancing guidelines and stay home if feeling sick.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the Health Center was reporting 31 active COVID-19 cases in Moniteau County - 13 new active cases have been recorded since Tuesday. Four people had recovered in Moniteau County as of Wednesday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 92 of 125 total cases since the start of the pandemic.
Moniteau County currently has the second highest number of total cases per capita, per 10,000 residents, behind only Boone County among a list of 13 Mid-Missouri counties.
