Moniteau County youth receives 4-H scholarship

COLUMBIA, Mo. A Moniteau County youth was awarded a scholarship via the Missouri 4-H Foundation, which will go toward her continued education.

Jenna Berendzen, of California, was awarded the Fowler and Viola Smith Young Memorial 4-H Scholarship in the amount of $500. The Missouri 4-H Foundation awarded 72 scholarships totaling $77,700 to 4-H youth throughout the state this year. Berendzen plans to study Biochemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

"The Missouri 4-H Foundation, along with our donors and partner organizations, is pleased to annually recognize the remarkable achievements of 4-Hers who have made a lasting impact on their local clubs and communities as well as the entire state of Missouri," said Kyle Kerns, Missouri 4-H Foundation chair. "While everyone is working through an extraordinary time, these scholarship recipients have already shown they can take on any challenge. We congratulate them as they pursue their educational goals and are excited to see what more they will achieve in the future."
