A campaign committee to promote Proposition P has been formed.

Proposition P is an April 7 ballot issue which will benefit two county services: roads and bridges and county law enforcement. If the measure is passed, these two services will evenly split a countywide one half-cent sales tax. A one half-cent sales tax was last passed 18 years ago.

The committee will hold public meetings, with County Commissioner Mac Finley and Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley available to answer questions, at 7 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: March 10 at the Cowboy Church in Tipton, March 17 (location TBD) in California, and March 24 at the Community Building in Jamestown. Please plan to attend one of these informative meetings in order to better understand the issues at hand.

Residents may ask questions, make comments and keep up on the latest info about the committee on Facebook at "Friends of Moniteau County."
