Two motorcycle drivers were injured in a five-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Miller County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Gene S. Calantoc, 35, of St. Robert, sustained serious injuries in the 4:06 p.m. accident and was transported by helicopter ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

Calantoc was driving a Suzuki motorcyle eastbound on Missouri 42 near Crosswinds Drive. He traveled into the westbound lane to pass several eastbound vehicles when his motorcycle was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado driven westbound by Joseph D. Christian, 18, of Wildwood, who was uninjured.

Calantoc, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest in the roadway.

At that point, debris from the Suzuki struck two other eastbound vehicles, but their drivers, a 16-year-old male from Brumley and 37-year-old Scott J. Weller from Tuscumbia, were unhurt.

Montez E. Cammon, 31, of St. Robert, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound which struck the roadway as he was attempting to avoid a collision with the teenager's vehicle.

Cammon received minor injuries and refused treatment on the scene, the patrol said.
