Kidnapping suspect fleeing law enforcement in Moniteau County

A kidnapping suspect is currently fleeing law enforcement in Moniteau County after cutting his ankle monitor, the California Police Department reported Thursday night.

The CPD issued a statement on its Facebook page at around 7 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect, Christopher Wayne Winter, is charged with the following felonies: first-degree kidnapping, tampering with a witness, tampering with an electronic monitoring system, and third-degree domestic assault.

Any individuals found aiding Winter by any means will also be charged, the CPD stated.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Winter or who is assisting him should call the CPD at 573-796-2818. Callers may choose to remain anonymous.
