2 traffic stops lead to arrests in Moniteau County

Two recent traffic stops in Moniteau County led to the arrest of two men for illegal drugs offenses.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop Friday on U.S. 50 near Kiely Ford Road for excessive speed, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports.

Deputies reportedly learned the driver, Benjamin Brandt, 23, was on probation for possession of a controlled substance.

A search of the vehicle allegedly located cocaine, a felony amount of marijuana, digital scales, amphetamine pills, psilocybin mushrooms and several items of drug paraphernalia.

During another traffic stop Friday - this one on U.S. 50 for an equipment violation - driver Jesse Baker, 22, of Clarksburg, was found to be on probation for possession of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle allegedly located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
