A Sedalia man is facing narcotics charges after authorities responded to a party Saturday night in Moniteau County.

According to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports, deputies were dispatched to a reported party at a residence located on Gracy Fork Road. The reporting party stated someone at the party had threatened them with a gun.

Deputies observed a large group of young people at the party allegedly consuming alcohol and began to break up the party. As vehicles were leaving, the deputies checked each one to make sure no one was driving impaired.

Deputies eventually made contact with a vehicle driven by Blaize Adams, 19, of Sedalia. Deputies reportedly noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked Adams if he had been drinking any alcohol or had any marijuana in his vehicle. Adams reportedly stated he did not have any marijuana, but deputies then searched the vehicle and allegedly located marijuana and a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.
