Two men drown at Lake of the Ozarks

Two men died in separate weekend accidents on the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County.

A Warrensburg man drowned after he slipped and fell from a dock into the water of Darby Hollow Cove at the 19.1 mile mark of the lake's Osage Arm.

Kegri C. Ilu, 32, was pronounced dead at 2:58 a.m. Monday following the accident, which occurred at 6:11 p.m. Sunday, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. Osage Beach police and fire departments and the Mid-County Fire Protection District Dive Team assisted the patrol in the recovery effort.

A St. Charles man drowned during a boating mishap at 9:45 p.m. Saturday in Tonka Spring Cove at the 15.5 mile mark of the Big Niangua Arm.

The patrol said Steven J. Sutton, 66, died after being exposed to a carbon monoxide leak from a cabin cruiser. Three other occupants refused treatment for minor to moderate injuries, while a fourth occupant was transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

The patrol was assisted by Mid-County fire and Lake West ambulance personnel.
