Watercraft operator hurt in Lake of the Ozarks mishap

A Kansas man was seriously injured Monday in a boating accident on the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County.

Kent Freeburg, 41, of Overland Park, was transported by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia following the 1 p.m. collision at the 14 mile mark of the lake's main channel, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report.

The crash occurred when a 2019 Yamaha personal watercraft operated by Freeburg struck the side of a 2000 Sonic Runabout boat operated by Adam J. Moore, 37, of Highland, Illinois, who was uninjured.
