Two injured in Lake of the Ozarks boating accident

A 23-year-old Racine, Wisconsin man was seriously injured in a boating accident early Friday afternoon on the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County.

Zach Schemming was operating a Formula near the 10 mile mark of the main channel at 1:25 p.m. when the boat hit a wake and threw him against the inside of the vessel, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report.

Emergency personnel flew Schemming to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

A passenger, Cody Kallenbach, 34, of Racine, Wisconsin, was taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment of minor injuries. Neither of the men wore seat belts, the patrol said.
