A Stover man died Sunday night when the car he was driving crashed in Benton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports James N. Scheil, 39, was killed in the 9:10 p.m. wreck on Missouri 52 east of Brockman Avenue.
His car was eastbound when it ran off the right side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment, struck a tree and then caught on fire, engulfing it in flames. It's unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.
