Mid-Missouri woman dies in Morgan County wreck

One person was killed in a four-vehicle wreck Monday morning between Tipton and Syracuse in Morgan County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 10 a.m. on U.S. 50 at the north junction of Missouri 5.

Jay Super, 42, of Gravois Mills, was stopped on eastbound 50 waiting to make a left turn. Karen Overmiller, 70, of Four Seasons, was abruptly approaching Super's vehicle from the rear when she crossed the centerline of the road and sideswiped Super's vehicle.

Overmiller then struck a tractor trailer, driven by James Perkins, 77, of Union, and then finally hit a vehicle driven Loretta Neeham, 80, of Eldon.

Overmiller was pronounced dead at the scene and Needham was treated for serious injuries. Super and Perkins had no reported injuries.
