The Moniteau County Health Center reported it had received notification of another coronavirus-related death Tuesday morning.
The deceased individual, who was in their 80s, passed away in April, marking the county's 32nd death due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Active cases as of press time Tuesday number at just two, part of a total of 1,929 cases in the county since the start of the pandemic.
Save for a small spike of 10 new cases added to the tally at the end of April, active COVID-19 cases have maintained a fairly steady low in the county more recently. Moniteau County has a daily rolling average, per seven days, of just 0.57 cases added, according to the Health Center's COVID-19 dashboard statistics. Total cases added to the tally in April numbered at 26, and only five have been recorded in May so far.
To date, the Health Center has administered 6,372 total COVID-19 vaccinations. Per the state's COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, an estimated 23.9 percent of Moniteau County's population have initiated the vaccination process. Including the Health Center's administered vaccines, 7,242 vaccine doses have been administered to county residents.
