Man arrested after early morning chase in Moniteau County

A Kansas City man was arrested after a chase with Moniteau County authorities Sunday.

According to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports, deputies were on patrol at 12:55 a.m. Sunday on Missouri 5, just south of Tipton, when they reported seeing a vehicle traveling north at a speed of 96 mph. The driver was later identified as Dylan Trotter, 28.

Deputies attempted to stop Trotter, but he allegedly kept traveling north on 5 into Tipton. Trotter then ran the traffic light at 5 and U.S. 50 and went west on 50. Trotter then ran into a ditch, turned around and proceeded to go back east on 50.

The vehicle failed to negotiate a turn from 50 onto Route BB and ran into a ditch and fence. Deputies took Trotter into custody.

Authorities also reported Trotter was in possession of marijuana and was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of his arrest.
