California Nutrition Center prepares to host holiday-themed December events

The California Nutrition Center has announced a healthy list of holiday-themed activities set to take place throughout the month of December.

Starting this weekend on Saturday, the center is hosting a dance featuring the Osage Drifters from 7-10 p.m.

Next week, Monday will play host to a 6 p.m. potluck, Fun Nite and bingo for food and games, for a suggested donation of $2 per person. Next Thursday, the Center will host a 9 a.m. Puzzle Contest - where two-member teams compete to quickly assemble a 300-piece puzzle - and a December Birthdays Celebration at 11:30 a.m.

Later in December, the center will ramp up the holiday themes as Christmas approaches. On Dec. 18, there will be a Cookie Decorating event at 12:30 p.m., where participants are encouraged to wear a holiday-themed apron, or one with a special meaning. The next day, Dec. 19, there will be an all-day Christmas celebration and party.

The Nutrition Center will be closed for the holiday on Christmas Day but will end the year with a bang the following week on Dec. 31 - besides serving lunch from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., the center will also host a dance with the Osage Drifters, this time from 7 p.m. to the dawn of the new year at midnight. Tickets to the event are available at the Nutrition Center.
