As it approaches its impending Tuesday fundraising deadline, California Progress, Inc. is nearing its fundraising goal for the Latham Park Project.

In a little over a week, the fundraising need has been cut from the roughly $45,000 still needed as of the Nov. 23 project ribbon cutting down to just $17,550 in remaining deficit as of Monday. CPI entered into a contract to purchase the property at an overall cost of $105,000, of which $10,000 was covered by CPI's initial deposit with the remainder to be funded by community donations.

The group will set up at the property during this Saturday's Christmas parade with information about how to make a donation.
