Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft will be the featured speaker at the Moniteau County Republican Club annual summer picnic.
The picnic, which will be at 6:30 p.m. July 18, will be at the California Nutrition Center at 107 W. Versailles Avenue in California.
All Republicans are encouraged to attend. Picnic fare of hamburgers and hot dogs as well as drinks and tableware will be provided at the free event. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish.
Ashcroft, a graduate of Jefferson City High School, has an engineering degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla and a law degree from St. Louis University. He and his wife, Katie, live in Jefferson City with their four children.
He was elected Missouri's 40th secretary of state in 2016.
The office has responsibilities in elections and voting, business services, administrative rules, investor protections and library services.
Matt Oerly and Halle Oliver will perform at the event; local officials will be recognized, and there will be a drawing.
