The Moniteau County R-1 School District Board of Education met Monday to discuss election results and appoint new officers.

The new school board members elected in last Tuesday's municipal election are Paul Bloch, Brandy Brockes and Landon Porter. Derek VanLoo was selected as the board's newest president, with Brandon Dunham moving into the role of vice president and Allison Kruger serving as treasurer. Susie Gorrell will remain the school board's secretary.

Gorrell had Bloch and Porter take an oath of office at Monday's meeting; Brockes did not, as she was not in attendance.

Following officer elections, Larry Hart with LJ Hart and Company spoke about the 2020 bond issue -which also passed successfully in Tuesday's election - while going over handouts, numbers and contracts in order to get things started on some of the construction items included in the proposition's plans.

The board accepted the resignation of elementary ESL teacher Lisa Schoen and maintenance worker Rick Whitson.

Before closing the meeting, the board appointed members to various committees. The calendar committee will consist of Kruger and Brockes. Dunham and VanLoo will serve on the salary committee, and Superintendent Dwight Sanders and board member Jeremy Burger will make up the sick leave pool committee. Finally, Bloch and Porter will serve on the TAB committee.

The school board also plans on holding a budget workshop June 24.

The Moniteau County R-1 School District Board of Education's next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. July 15.
