PSC approves agreement in Spire Missouri ISRS cases

Spire requests waiver of some natural gas safety rules

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement reached by Spire Missouri, Inc., the Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission and the Office of the Public Counsel which will change the infrastructure system replacement surcharge (ISRS) for Spire West customers and Spire East customers of Spire Missouri, Inc.

The ISRS for Spire East residential customers will increase by approximately $0.65 a month and by approximately $0.82 a month for Spire West residential customers. The changes take effect May 25, 2020. The ISRS first appeared on Spire West customer bills in April 2004. The ISRS first appeared on Spire East customer bills in June 2004.

Spire Missouri, Inc. has also filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission requesting a waiver of compliance with certain natural gas safety rules and certain Commission orders pertaining to inspections and replacements.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than May 22, 2020, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102-0360, or by using the Commission's Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.

The ISRS adjustments reflect infrastructure replacement investments made by the natural gas company from August 1, 2019 through February 29, 2020. These costs for natural gas pipeline replacements and relocations are not currently included in Spire Missouri, Inc.'s rates.

Along with Moniteau County, Spire West provides natural gas service to approximately 517,500 customers in Andrew, Barry, Barton, Bates, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Christian, Clay, Clinton, Dade, DeKalb, Greene, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jasper, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, McDonald, Pettis, Platte, Ray, Saline, Stone and Vernon counties. Spire East provides natural gas service to approximately 654,400 customers in the City of St. Louis as well as the Missouri counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Butler, Iron, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Crawford, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve.
