Women's Basketball: Drake's Rhine, Western Illinois' Lutz lead scoring attack

MACOMB, Ill. - It was a big night for two former Tri-County Conference rivals on the basketball court.

Drake redshirt junior forward Sara Rhine posted a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Western Illinois freshman guard Elizabeth Lutz finished with a team-high 15 points Saturday.

Drake came away with a 98-71 win against Western Illinois.

Rhine (Eldon High School) finished with game-highs in both points and rebounds, playing 18 minutes off the bench. She shot 9-of-12 from the field, all inside the 3-point line.

Lutz (California High School) scored her first career collegiate points in the loss. She played 20 minutes off the bench and shot 5-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-11 from 3-point range. She also had an assist and a steal.

Drake (2-0) will host South Dakota on Thursday in its home opener.

Western Illinois (0-2) hosts MacMurray College today.
