After a slew of rainouts in the early-going, Prairie Home's baseball season was in full swing during the month of April. Entering the final stretch of the regular season, the Panthers are 2-10, with the wins coming over Slater and La Monte.

Here's a recap of how Prairie Home fared against area rivals Jamestown and Russellville.

Jamestown 20, Prairie Home 1

Prairie Home's Ross Kendrick hit an RBI single to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead over rival Jamestown. From there, it was all Eagles.

Buoyed by home runs from Brandon Thompson, Austin Flippin, Austin Maslen and Garrett Wolfe; Jamestown tacked on 20 runs in the game's first three innings to coast to a run-rule-shortened victory April 12.

Wolfe had a four-hit performance in the win - all of which went for extra bases. After doubles in each of his first three at-bats, Wolfe smashed a grand slam in the third inning. In total, the junior finished with five RBI.

All of Jamestown's home runs came with at least one runner on. Thompson finished with four RBI while Flippin had three. When the Eagles weren't dialing long distance, they were being patient at the dish. Jamestown drew five first-inning walks, which really set the tone during its six-run first.

The Eagles likely would've kept their first inning explosion going, if it weren't for Prairie Home center fielder Wyatt Borghardt. The senior made a diving grab to end the first frame, saving two runs in the process.

On the mound, Jamestown's Cole Theissen got the start and went two innings before freshman Dalton Oerly came on in relief.

For Prairie Home, Creed Flood got the start and lasted one and two-thirds innings before Billy Kellum came on in relief. Offensively, Flood contributed with a pair of singles and scored the Panthers' only run.

Russellville 16, Prairie Home 1

Despite being no-hit, the Panthers still managed to get a run on the board on in the first inning of their April 17 loss to the Indians.

Freshman Clayton Pethan scored Prairie Home's run after reaching on an error. Kendrick, Flood, Kellum and Kassen Lock all reached base for the Panthers via walks.

On the bump, Flood and Pethan each threw two innings apiece in the loss.
