Russellville High School will host an Alumni and Friends Track and Field Meet early next year.
Last week, the school district announced the event, which will take place March 21, 2020. The day of the event, sign-in takes place from 5-5:30 p.m., after which an alumni picture will be taken at 5:30 p.m. and the meet's events will begin at 6 p.m. Though the event invites alumni back to compete, it isn't restricted to just alumni participants, as all ages including youth are invited.
The cost for the event is $25, which allows for participation in any number of the events being offered at the meet: shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, javelin, 4x800 relay, 100/110 hurdles, 100m dash, 1600m run, 4x100m relay, 400m dash, 800m run, 200m dash, 3200m run and 4x400 relay.
Pre-registering in the event earns participants a free T-shirt; however, participants who do not pre-register won't receive one. Registration is preferred before March 21, but entries will be accepted the day of the event. A registration form can be found on the Cole R-1 District Facebook page.
