Tyler Blank, of California, has won four races in a row at Double-X this year.

Blank, who has been racing sprint cars since 2003, said going fast and the community aspect of racing are things he enjoys.

“The atmosphere, the people you know, I got a lot of friends throughout the country that I have met through racing,” Blank said.

Blank drives the number 75 car at Double-X, and he said he enjoys racing there.

“California is home. So we always enjoy it. We’ve got a lot more fans and family and friends that are able to support us here versus if we race three or four hours away,” Blank said. “To us, this place is a lot more important.”

He said he got into racing because it was something he and his dad enjoyed.

Blank said he has already exceeded the goals he had before this season.

“I try to set a goal of winning two to three races a year and just have a solid season,” Blank said. “We are kind of past that point. We have a lot of big races coming up that we definitely got a lot of momentum going into.”

One of the best parts of winning is getting the checkered flag to sign and give to a child after the race, Blank said.

“So every week we get to pick a random kid to give those to, and that’s probably the best part about winning,” Blank said.
