Pintos boys cross country places second

The California Pintos middle school girls team finished in second place Oct. 12 at the Russellville Invitational. Kenzleigh Goans finished in third place, Allie Heather finished in fourth place, Camryn Wingate finished in sixth place, and Vanessa Hernandez finished in eighth place.

The California Pintos varsity boys cross country team finished in second place with 107 points Oct. 12 at the Russellville Invitational. Capital City High School finished in first place with 35 points.

For the boys varsity team, Caden Kirksey finished in first place with a time of 17:08.09, Trevor Porter finished in 12th place with a time of 18:30.56, Ian Miller finished in 34th place with a time of 19:50.07, Colby Sommerer finished in 35th place with a time of 19:51.14, Eli Dunnaway finished in 44th place with a time of 20:15.30, David Leon finished in 46th place with a time of 20:20.06, and William Ireland finished in 47th place with a time of 20:22.20. Kirksey and Porter both medaled.

For the varsity girls team, Sarah Kirby finished in fifth place with a time of 21:50.53, Alayna Butts finished in 32nd place with a time of 24:32.39, Anika Miller finished in 43rd place with a time of 26:03.22, and Leona Hudson finished in 59th place with a time of 30:12.36. Kirby medaled.

For the boys junior varsity team, Nathan Ireland finished in fourth place with a time of 21:00.08, and Peter Dampf finished in 15th place with a time of 28:26.97. Ireland and Dampf both medaled, as well.

The boys middle school team finished in sixth place with 131 points.

The girls middle school team finished in second place with 42 points. The team was only two points behind the first-place winner, Eldon, which had 40 points.

For the boys team, Will Boyd finished in seventh place with a time of 10:08.12, Alex Thomas finished in 27th place with a time of 11:04.89, Damien Pace finished in 37th place with a time of 11:47.64, Andrew Reed finished in 41st place with a time of 12:02.69, and Gabe Millis finished in 56th place with a time of 16:09.03.

For the girls team, Kenzleigh Goans finished in third place with a time of 10:28.59, Allie Heather finished in fourth place with a time of 11:13.64, Camryn Wingate finished in sixth place with a time of 11:20.41, Vanessa Hernandex finished in eighth place with a time of 11:26.16, Caoliee Box finished in 35th place with a time of 13:40.41, Azalee Elliot finished in 39th place with a time of 14:12.97, Nathalia Hurtado finished in 42nd place with a time of 14:28.52, Bennett Gatlin finished in 43rd place with a time of 14:29.28 and Sherlyn Escobedo finished in 44th place with a time of 14:31.39. Goans, Heather, Wingate and Hernandex all medaled.
