Area basketball players earn media All-District honors

Tristan Porter gets past a defender Jan. 13 during the Pintos’ 68-32 win over Battle during the first round of the California girls tournament. Porter earned All-District and All-State nods from area media following her season-long performance this year.

Athletes from around the area earned media All-District honors for basketball following the winter sports season.

Boys basketball players from around the county were recognized for their season-long performances. California's Trevor Myers was named to the media Class 3 All-District boys second team; Prairie Home/Bunceton's Kassen Lock was named to the Class 1 All-District boys first team; Jamestown's Clark Rohrbach was named to the Class 1 All-District boys first team; and Prairie Home/Bunceton's Jason Burnett and Jamestown's Christian Snyder were named to the Class 1 All-District boys second team.

On the girls' side, California's Tristan Porter was named to the media Class 3 All-District girls first team. Porter was also named to the Class 3 girls All-State team following her strong season. Porter, a junior for the Lady Pintos, earned her first all-state nod after averaging 14.8 points, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Russellville's Camie Grayson and Allison Schrimpf were named to the Class 2 All-District girls second team; Jamestown's Ginna Meisenheimer and Prairie Home/Bunceton's Chloe Moser were named to the Class 1 All-District girls first team; and Prairie Home/Bunceton's Maggie Wood was named to the Class 1 All-District second team.
