Indians come out on top in first game of 2020

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - It took nearly three months for Russellville to finally get in its first baseball game of 2020, and it happened to end in walk-off fashion.

Chandler Miller's single to center field scored Trenton Morrow in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Indians to a 6-5 victory against the Linn Wildcats.

Linn led 2-0 following Austin McKim's solo home run in the top of the fourth. Russellville answered with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-2 lead. Landon Plochberger highlighted that inning with a two-run double.

The Wildcats scored three runs in the seventh to tie the game at 5, as Kaleb Brandt's double with two outs scored a pair of runs.

Dawson Koch was the winning pitcher for Russellville. In three innings of relief, he allowed three runs on two hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Russellville won Game 2 of the doubleheader 13-0 in three innings. Isaiah Kauffman had three RBI for the Indians, while Landen Waggoner and Bryce Bryant each had two RBI.
