Jamestown baseball claims CCAA Conference champion crown against Calvary Lutheran

The Jamestown Eagles baseball team became CCAA Conference champions May 3 after beating Calvary Lutheran 12-8. The Eagles banged home five home runs, each contributed by a different player, en route to their ninth victory of the season.

The Jamestown Eagles baseball team (9-5) claimed the CCAA Conference champion crown May 3 after a 12-8 win against Calvary Lutheran.

The victory culminated later in the game for the Eagles, with the score eventually tied at 8 in the fifth inning. The Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the inning and held on for the win.

The Eagles scored their 12 runs, including five home runs, on nine hits. Skyler Duncan, Bradley Schoenthal, Evan Schoenthal, Chayce Klund and Tristan Jones all contributed home runs for the Eagles en route to their ninth victory.

Mack Sorrells pitched three and one third innings and gave up eight runs on seven hits, striking out nine batters and walking one for the Eagles.

The Eagles’ next game is at 5 p.m. May 5 at Tipton.
