Five Pintos track athletes advance to sectionals meet

The California Pintos track and field team competed in the Class 3 District 4 meet at Montgomery County High School on May 15. The team had five athletes qualify for sectionals.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. - The California Pintos track and field team competed May 15 at the Class 3 District 4 meet at Montgomery County High School.

Five Pintos athletes earned qualification for the sectionals meet, which is set for May 22 at Montgomery County. They are as follows: David Leon, 400; Drake Schlup, Zach Luebbert, David Leon and Eli Dunnaway, 4x100 relay; and Will Pickering, high jump.

For the girls team, in the 100: Gwendolyn Yarnell, 14th place, 14.61; and Reghan Lewis, 15th place, 15.26. In the 200: Gwendolyn Yarnell, 13th place, 30.19; and Reghan Lewis, 16th place, 33.20. In the 1600; Camryn Wingate, 15th place; 6:45.70, and Leona Hudson, 18th place, 7:35.01. In the 3200: Camryn Wingate, 13th place, 14:41.40. In the long jump: Lanie Holtsclaw, 15th place, 3.88 meters. In the javelin: Lanie Holtsclaw, ninth place, 26.01 meters; and Kaitlyn Radford, 20th place, 13.87 meters.

The boys team finished in 11th place out of 13 teams with 24 points. For the boys team, in the 100: Drake Schlup, eighth place, 11.93; and Zachary Luebber, 14th place, 12.33. In the 200: Eli Dunnaway, 16th place, 26.32. In the 400: David Leon, third place, 52.78. In the 1600: Ian Miller, ninth place, 5:09.52, In the 3200: Ian Miller, 10th place, 11:39.33; and Matthew Kilmer, 14th place, 12:05.77. In the 4x100 relay: Drake Schlup, Zach Luebbert, David Leon and Eli Dunnaway, fourth place, 46.15. In the 4x400 relay, the relay team finished in 12th place with a time of 3:52.58. In the high jump: Will Pickering, third place, 1.86 meters; and Zachary Luebbert, 10th place, 1.67 meters. In the long jump: Eli Dunnaway, 12th place, 5.37 meters; and Johnny Garcia, 16th place, 5.03 meters. In the triple jump: Eli Dunnaway, sixth place, 11.6 meters; and Johnny Garcia, 14th place, 10.76 meters. In the discus: Peter Dampf, ninth place, 34.95 meters; and Jordan Eubanks, 14th place, 31.93 meters. In the javelin: Will Pickering, seventh place, 35.74 meters; and Jordan Eubanks, eighth place, 34.9 meters. In the shot put: Jordan Eubanks, 10th place, 12.02 meters; and Wilson Remmel, 19th place, 10.37 meters.
