Alfred Otto Brandt

Alfred Otto Brandt, 83, of Russellville, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1936, near Russellville, the son of the late Andy W. and Iona (Kautsch) Brandt. He was a 1954 graduate of Russellville High School. Following high school, Alfred served in the Missouri National Guard for 10 years. He was united in marriage on May 28, 1961, at First Baptist Church in California to Marilyn A. Scott who survives at the home. Alfred was a life-long farmer who also owned and operated Russellville Feed & Farm Supply, was a truck driver, and worked for the Russellville Locker for over 20 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown. He enjoyed reading, sharing humorous stories with family and friends, and attending tractor pulls. His preferred choice of tractors were Allis Chalmers. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Brandt, Russellville; two children, Debbie Brandt, Ballwin; Scott Brandt, Russellville; one grandson, Andrew Brandt; three siblings, Earl (Janis) Brandt, Norborne, Mo.; Gladys (Eugene) Moll, Russellville; Joyce (Dan) Linhardt, Russellville; sister-in-law, Joan (Harley) Koestner, Russellville; five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown with Rev. Brian Whittle officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Hospice Compassus, or a charity of the donor's choice.
