Dorsey W. Bolin

Dorsey W. Bolin passed away at Lakeview Health Care Center August 22, 2019. He had been a patient there for several years. He was born in California, Missouri, the son of Charles Bertram Bolin and Susan Ann Shores Bolin, on September 16, 1925. Dorsey attended California, Missouri schools through sophomore year. He later finished high school through the GED program. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise James on June 27, 1948, at the First Baptist Church in California, Missouri, who survives at the home. Dorsey worked at California Woolen Mill, California Goff's, and Poling's Grocery Stores. Later in Boonville he worked for Mormons Feed Company. He was manager of the MFA Fertilizer plant in Columbia, Missouri for several years and the last three years of his career was manager of the MFA Fertilizer Plant in Tipton, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boonville, Missouri where he was a deacon, Sunday School teacher and a choir member. He loved singing with the Chordbusters Barber Shop Chorus for several years. He also had a love for woodworking and refurnishing furniture. Dorsey is survived by his wife, Mary Louise of the home; son, Christopher Bolin of Boonville; daughter, Barbara Sue Fisher of Bemidji, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Blake Allan Fisher and wife Brenda of Andover, Minnesota, Billie Anne Sikkila and husband Jon of Mountain Iron, Minnesota, Bradley Aaron Fisher and wife Eva of Bemidji, Minnesota; nine great-grandchildren Sierra Fisher, Peyton Fisher, Caiden Fisher, Makalli Fisher, Ty Sikkila, Zach Sikkila, Kylie Sikkila, Haden Fisher, Jevin Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Susan Bolin; sister, Anna Marie Bolin, brothers Howard E. Bolin, Norman Lee Bolin, Kenneth B. Bolin; sister, Darlene Bolin Williams. His sister Shirley Bolin Favazza passed away on August 17, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation for Dorsey was held Monday August 26, 2019, at Howard Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Services were held Monday August 26, 2019, at Howard Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Paris officiating. Burial followed at High Point Cemetery near California, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church.
