Douglas William Menke

Mr. Douglas William Menke, age 57, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born February 1, 1962, in Washington, Missouri, the son of William and Mary Ann "Jasper" Menke. Doug was employed for many years as a carpenter and cook in both Florida and Missouri. He enjoyed working with his hands, cooking; especially BBQ, and anything water related or being on a beach. He was a very creative individual who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by one son: Joshua Menke (Krista) of Linn, Mo.; his mother: Mary Ann Menke of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters: Ruthie Adams of California, Mo., Debra Menke of Jefferson City, Mo.; seven grandchildren: Avery, Jayden, Temperance, Kailey, Gabriel, Karaline, Kora; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: William Menke; one son: Julian Menke; one sister: Barbara Schenewerk. A Celebration of Doug's Life was at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the home of Dan and Jean Carpenter, 7712 Twin Lake Dr., Jefferson City, MO. 65101.
