Lee Allen Raymond Murphy

Lee Allen Raymond Murphy, 76, of Jefferson City, Missouri, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He left this earthly world to be reunited with the love of his life, Joyce, who passed away in January 2019. He was born on October 4, 1943 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Herbert and Helen Bungart Murphy, who preceded him in death. Lee graduated from Helias High School in Jefferson City in 1961. On December 28, 1963, at St. Joseph Church in Jefferson City, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Trippensee. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri. He held several positions in the animal food sales industry including Pay-way, Mastermix, Jurgensmeyer's Farms and Kent Feeds. He retired from Kent as Vice President after a successful career so that he could care for Joyce. He enjoyed attending his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. He was an avid fisherman and recently took several family members on a Canadian fishing trip. Lee was a founding member of California Swim Team and California Friends of Music. He was a long-term member of the Moniteau County school board. He was a devout Catholic. Lee is survived by one son, Kevin Murphy (Cindy) of Lake Ozark; two daughters, Kelli Murphy-Small (Chris) of Rocky Mount and Kristie Glenn (Steve) of California, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Brian Murphy (Heather), Brent Murphy (Diane), Shae Donahue (Taylor), Bailey McGill (Connor), Tyler Small, Rylee Glenn, Jacob Small and Liam Glenn; eight great- grandchildren, Kennedy Murphy, Grayson Murphy, Kellan Murphy, Finley Murphy, Lillian Donahue, Emersyn McGill, Harrison Donahue and Grady McGill; siblings, Art Bisges (Astri), Gary Bisges (Dianne), Marybeth Bruns (Mark); and nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Brecken Kevin Murphy in 2015. Due to Covid, a private family Mass was held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Thursday, August 13, 2020, with Father Alex Gabriel officiating.
