Clifford "Cliff" Higgins

Clifford "Cliff" Higgins, 86, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at his residence. He was born on July 22, 1933, in Centertown, Mo., the son of Archie Higgins and Della (Gouge) Higgins, both of whom preceded him in death. Cliff served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the St. Martin's Catholic Church, was an American Legion Lifetime Member, and a VFW Lifetime Member. Cliff was united in marriage on July 8, 1978, in Loose Creek, Mo. to Theresia (Jaegers) Higgins who survives of the home. He worked as a custodian for the Jefferson City Public Schools for 19 years and also worked at McGraw Edison and International Shoe. Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, making wine, and was an avid Cardinals fan. Cliff was a devoted husband. Survivors include two sisters: Mary Kirchner (Jerry) of Centertown, Mo., Dorothy Lairmore (Bill) of Centertown, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. Cliff was preceded in death by three sisters: Pauline Allen, Georgia Bonine, Ruby Light; one brother: Clarence Higgins. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary and funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m., all at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Steve Kliethermes. Burial with full military honors will be at New Hope Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to New Hope Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
