Mabel "Nadine" Hickam, 96, of Prairie Home, Mo., passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Meadow Ridge Estates Senior Living in Moberly, Mo. Nadine was born on May 3, 1923, in Wooldridge, Mo., the daughter of Alvin J. and Agusta (Heckerman) Kendrick both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on April 29, 1944, in Prairie Home, Mo., at the Baptist Parsonage to James R. "J.R." Hickam who preceded her in death. She was a lifelong homemaker. Her passions were her flower beds, gardening and baking. She was a member of St. Peter's Pleasant Grove Evangelical Church near Prairie Home. She most recently attended St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown. Nadine is survived by one sister, Helen Howell of Kansas City, Mo. and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Gene Hatfield; and two brothers, Buck Kendrick and Alvin Joseph Kendrick Jr. Visitation was held on Monday, January 20, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. with funeral immediately following at 11:00 a.m. all at the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Steve Watson. Burial was at Pleasant Grove Evangelical Cemetery, near Prairie Home. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the California Nutrition Center c/o the funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
