Walter B. Pate

Walter B. Pate, age 82, of California, Mo., passed away on May 25, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. On December 16, 1937, Walter was born in Sedalia, Mo., the son of Charles Fischer and Florence Pate, both of whom preceded him in death. Walter married Alice Parker on February 8, 1959, in Clarksburg, Missouri. He loved farming and fishing, hunting, and was a dedicated family man. He was a member of the VFW Memorial Post #4345 and Member of the American Legion. Along with his wife, Walter is survived by one brother, Charles "Bones" Fischer; three sons, Jimmy (Roberta) Pate, Carl (Deirdre) Pate, and Steven (Melissa) Pate; one daughter, Betty Harmon all of California, Mo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Funeral Services are private. Interment was at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Hickman Cemetery near Clarksburg, with Full Military Honors with Mr. Roy Dameron officiating, Memorials are suggested to the Hickman Cemetery Association.
