June (Hampton) Renkemeyer, 90, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on March 6, 1930, the third child of the late Arnold and Bernice (Potter) Hampton, on a farm in Jamestown. She was united in marriage to Roman Renkemeyer, on June 14, 1952 in Harrison, Arkansas. She attended the Bethel one room school house and was baptized at the age of 12 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. June and her cousin, Betty, came to Jefferson City, in 1946. They worked at Oberman Pants factory, Lace Moccasin, and the Tweedie Shoe Factory. She became a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in 1952 and later became a Eucharistic Minister. June is survived by her children: Joan Heard (Jerry), Diane Sullivan, Donald Renkemeyer, Daniel Renkemeyer, David Renkemeyer (Kerrey), and Dale Renkemeyer (Michele); siblings: Donald Hampton and Dorothy Croy (Jim); grandchildren: Shane Heard (Dot), Matt Heard (Heather), Nick Sullivan, Dawson and Katie Renkemeyer, Ashley Renkemeyer, Aleshia Entz (Justin), Erica Renkemeyer, Tyler Renkemeyer (Hope) and Jordan Renkemeyer; 13 great-grandchildren; in-laws: Theresa Verslues, Virginia Ceretto, Fred "Buck" Russler; godmother: Alma Sandbothe; and many favorite nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: Roman Renkemeyer; son: Michael Renkemeyer; siblings: Goldie Murray, Roger Hampton (Virginia), Lee Roy Hampton, Paul Ellis Hampton; in-laws: Angie Russler, Shirley Hampton, Billy Connell, Ed Sandbothe, Bud and Louise McDonald, Butch and Mary Jane Temmen, Tony Cerreto, Herb Verslues; and godchild: Kristin Russler. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Entombment followed in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society.
