Peggy Sue Herndon

Peggy Sue Herndon, age 79, of Jamestown, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. Peggy was born in Lupus, Mo., to Robert Reimler and Allie (Vaughan) Reimler. Peggy was united in marriage to Norris Dean Herndon at Lupus Baptist Church on August 25, 1957. Peggy was well known in the community for singing and playing piano at community weddings and funerals. She was the pianist at Jamestown Baptist Church for over 60 years. "Mom was a kind soul, a woman of enormous faith, with a servant's heart for the elderly and her community." She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Along with Norris Dean, she enjoyed mowing, serving her church and being with her family. Peggy is survived by her son, Rick (Jennifer) Herndon; grandchildren, Matthew (Anne) Herndon and Sarah (Zac) Dwiggins; great-grandson, Henry Dwiggins; niece, Cecilia Reimler; and niece, Ramona (Grant) Miller. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, W. Vaughan and Ted Reimler; infant brother, Dewell Reimler; and her son, Mark Herndon. Due to CDC recommendations services will be private. Private family interment will be held at the Union Baptist Cemetery with Rev. David Tolliver officiating.
