Jesse A. Baker, 92, of California, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020, at California Care Center. He was born on January 23, 1928, in Osage County, a son of the late Frank and Bertha (Phillips) Baker. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Roark, July 3, 1948, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. After high school he joined the United States Navy and proudly served during the final months of World War II and after. Upon leaving the service he married the love of his life, Bonnie Roark who was a faithful partner for 60 years. He was an ordained minister through the Pentecostal Church of God for 57 years and pastored churches in Peoria and Creve Coeur, Illinois and California, Missouri. Over the course of his ministry he held several different district offices. While living in Illinois he was employed as a manager for the Caterpillar Tractor Company for 26 years. Jesse enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was a real jokester and was always cracking jokes. Jesse was a devoted family man and minister to his flock and his love and wisdom will be greatly missed. He has been reunited with his Savior and beloved wife and son. Jesse is survived by his sons: Michael A. Baker (Renee), Brian D. Baker (Dee) and Alan "Scott" Baker (Tammy); 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years: Bonnie Baker; son: Jesse "Ronnie" Baker; siblings: Juanita Ousley, Annabelle Schreimann, Clifton "T.C." Baker and Tom Iliff. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, services are private for the family. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Solid Rock Family Church.
