David Earl Tambke, 68, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at his residence. He was born January 9, 1952, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Henry Dorsey "HD" Tambke and Jacqueline (Rannabargar) Tambke Knernschield. He was a 1970 graduate of Russellville High School and attended Linn State Technical College. He was united in marriage on July 14, 1973, in California, Missouri to Bernadine Dutcher, who survives at the home. David worked as a mechanic, bulk fuel delivery driver, and owned and operated Tambke Petroleum retiring in 2010. David served as a volunteer fire fighter and board member for the Russellville/Lohman Volunteer Fire Department since 1970. From 1986-1999, David served as the Fire Chief. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing, playing bluegrass music, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and socializing with his friends. Survivors include his wife, Bernadine Tambke, Russellville; his step-father, Cecil Knernschield, Lohman; two children, Jenifer (Adam) Seaver, Russellville and Michael (Laci) Tambke, Bonnots Mill; four grandchildren, Mailee Tambke, Christopher Seaver, Justin Seaver, Brady Seaver; one sister, Betty (Bill) Breshears, Republic, Missouri; and one niece, Kara (Garrett) Wacker, Rolla. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16 at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville with Pastor Ed Merckel officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Russellville/Lohman Volunteer Fire Fighters or to the Russellville Community Pool. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
