Wanda J. DeMint, age 77, of California, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born June 9, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to Garth and Rose Tabor Comstock. On September 11, 1960, Wanda was united in marriage to Charles Wayne DeMint in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a 1992 graduate of Nichols Career Center's LPN program. She was employed with Villa Marie and St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. For most of her life she was a homemaker, busy raising her children, and volunteering at their school. She and Wayne were instrumental in establishing the Moniteau County Developmental Disability Services. She was a volunteer with Special Olympics and van driver for Sheltered Workshop clients living in California. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in California. Survivors include her husband: Charles Wayne DeMint Sr. of the home; three children: Tammy (Gary) Whitlow of Shawnee, Kansas, Charles Wayne DeMint Jr. of California and Juliet (Jase) Wingate of Centertown; eight siblings: Roy (Ruth) Comstock, Versailles; Becky (Terry) O'Brien, Peculiar; Beverly Tomblinson, Versailles; Dan (Peggy) Comstock, Fulton; Andy (Mary) Comstock, Eldon; Reba (Julie) Comstock-Fisher, Naperville, Ill.; Tim (Suzie) Comstock, Tipton; and Bonnie Yoder, Belton; five grandchildren: Taylor and Trevor Whitlow, and Jesse, Camryn, and Morgan Wingate. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. Masks are requested and social distancing will be observed. Visitation will also be 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, at the Annunciation Catholic Church in California with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Father James Finder officiating. Masks are required in the church and social distancing will be observed. Burial will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
