Robert "Bob" Burger, 86, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at California Care Center. He was born May 14, 1934, the first baby born at the Latham Sanitarium in California, Missouri, the son of Martin and Florence Burger. He attended Felder School and then graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1952. Following graduation, Bob enlisted in the US Army and was discharged in 1963. Bob was married to Mary Stegner on September 20, 1959, at Moniteau Advent Evangelical and Reformed Church. Bob served on the Prairie Home School Board and was past president. He was a lifelong farmer and owned and operated a custom butchering business. Bob enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and word searches. Bob also sold firewood and volunteered with the Cargill Cares Food Pantry. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Burger of the home; two daughters, Lisa Burger of Columbia and Roberta Pate (Jimmy) of Jamestown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ruth (Stegner) Berroth and her husband, Larry. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at California United Church of Christ with Rev. Russell Cobb officiating. Interment followed at Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery near Jamestown. Memorials are suggested to the Moniteau Christian Ministries Center or the California United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
