Diane Marie Offerman, age 75, of California, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020, surrounded by family at home, after a hard-fought battle against pancreatic cancer. Diane was born July 13, 1945, in LeMars, Iowa, daughter of LeRoy and Ruth (Boever) Bunkers. She lived in Remsen, Iowa and attended Remsen St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1963. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Louis M. Offerman on February 22, 1964, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. They lived in Chicago, Ill. and Norfolk, Va. while Louie was stationed in the Navy, then they lived in Minnesota, Missouri, and Iowa during their 56-year marriage. In her high school days, she was kept busy making rocket ice cream bars for the Bunkers Dairy. Later, her jobs included: childcare, bank teller, multiple ASCS offices, and Scholastic Corp. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, crocheting and knitting, cooking and baking, gardening and canning, collecting teapots and sewing machines, camping and bonfires, reading, playing pinochle, and laughing. Survivors include her husband, Louie of California, Mo.; daughter, Sherry (Rick) Meyer of California, Mo.; son, Jon Offerman and special friend Elaine Hodges of Jamestown, Mo. along with her son, Dustin (Kayla) Hodges and daughter Andi; son, Jeff Offerman of California, Mo.; granddaughter, Amber (Cutler) Tindle; great-granddaughter, Gentree Tindle; siblings, Gary Lee (Martha) Bunkers, Karen (Joe) Hermes, Philip (Shannon) Bunkers, Kristine (Tony) Full, Susie (Doug) Ruhland, and Bonnie (Rich) Arens; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Rochelle Tentinger; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, LeRoy and Ruth Bunkers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roman and Florence Offerman; and many aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimers Association.
